Slava Sundays @ Fletcher Leidschendam - The Hague

The series of benefit concerts for Ukraine will be launched at the Fletcher hotel in Leidschendam (The Hague), a renowned business venue overseeing a lake.

For this first edition, we will have the honour to host one of the Honorary Artists of Ukraine, Borys Fedorov, and Nicholas Santangelo Schwartz, co-director of the Davidsbündler Music Academy, accompanied by students from the academy.

We will also have the privilege to receive His Excellency Mr Maksym Kononenko, the ambassador of Ukraine in the Netherlands. Mr Kononenko has been a strong supporter of all our missions for Ukraine since Day 1, and he once again shows great dedication by launching for us the Slava Sundays series at this occasion.

BORYS FEDOROV - piano

For more than three decades now, Borys has been a professor of piano at Kyiv’s State Conservatory and the Lysenko Kyiv Specialised Musical College For Exceptional Young Talents. He has lately also taken on the role of mentor at the Davidsbündler Music Academy.

Borys is a concert pianist of rare creative talents and whose vast repertoire embodies the works of composers from many different styles and periods. Winner of multiple international piano competitions, Borys lately discovered a hidden talent and passion in composition. His works have since been received with great enthusiasm by many top musicians and other composers alike.

In 2020, Borys received the title of Honorary Artist of Ukraine, awarded by the president of the country for numerous artistic achievements and valuable input into the cultural life of Ukraine.

NICHOLAS SANTANGELO SCHWARTZ - cello/double bass

“He displays an unusually beautiful musical temperament. His music-making is intelligent and pragmatic, yet colourful and poetic".

First prize winner of the International Society of Bassists and Stulburg International Competitions, and regular guest at numerous international chamber music festivals, Nicholas is a double bassist in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra since 2013. He is unique as a double bassist as he also plays and performs as a cellist.
